At Grady Design Harborside Eye Care, Dr. William Grady prides himself on delivering professional, knowledgeable, and friendly eye exams and eye care services. Dr Grady combines his 30+ years of experience as a licensed optometrist with the latest health and imaging technologies.

 

Personal Touch

It is the personal touch that keeps our patients coming back time and time again. Unlike some eye care centers, where technicians do much of the eye exam protocol, Dr. Grady provides the entire testing and analysis involved with your eye exam. Review of your past, present, and future needs are of primary concern – all done in a friendly, conversational manner. We believe that your participation is a key element in the successful outcome, so we ensure that you are educated and engaged throughout the exam.

 

Technologies

We have some of the latest technologies for health and imaging during your eye exam. This includes digital photography of the inside of your eyes with a retinal camera. This means you may not have to have your eyes dilated as often when visiting our office. Measuring for eyeglasses is also done digitally. We offer  expertise in difficult-to-fit and advanced contact lens types. Also we offer a full referral network for any patient need or condition that may be encountered.

 

Integrative Approach

Understanding that your eyes and vision are not just an isolated part of your body is big part of what we do here at Grady Design Harborside Eye Care. Literally, the eyes are a direct extension of your brain. Health aspects and visual aspects are often considered separate entities, yet they are integrated into the same system. Nutrition and exercise are very important components to your eye and body health. Discuss these specifics with Dr. Grady during your exam, as it will assist in a proper evaluation and prescription.

 

Experience

Dr. Grady has 30+ years of experience in primary eye care. He has years of clinical experience working with surgeons, providing pre and post operative care. Dr. Grady keeps current on optometric and ophthalmological trends by attending supplemental educational courses, in addition to mandatory continuing education courses.

 

Family Friendly

People of all ages are welcome! Often husbands and wives, or parents and children come into the exam room at the same time with Dr. Grady. The idea is that as the eye exam is going forward, Dr. Grady is communicating with both the patient and their family member. This limits the need for the patient to have to explain or review with another person ‘what the doctor said’. This is especially helpful with teenagers!

 

Educator

Any good doctor is a professional educator, meaning that the doctor’s responsibility is to provide as much useful information to their patients as is possible. Once that information has been presented and discussed, options are offered for treatment. Patients who have the options explained, and the time to evaluate those options, are happier with the outcome.
